Job Summary

This permanent position seeks a dedicated Municipal Auditor to join the Wesermarsch District's Accounting and Municipal Audit department. The core responsibility involves the independent auditing of annual financial statements for the district and its affiliated cities and municipalities. Day-to-day tasks include defining specific audit fields, analyzing and assessing financial transactions, coordinating various sub-audits, and managing timelines. A significant part of the role is conducting procurement reviews (covering UVgO and VOB/A regulations) before contract awards, alongside providing expert consultation on procurement law issues. Candidates must possess a university degree in Administrative Business Administration or a related economic field with a focus on Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification in General Administration combined with extensive knowledge of Municipal Accounting. Strong team skills, self-reliance, and fluent negotiation-level German are essential prerequisites for this challenging and varied public sector role.

Required Skills

Education

Required: University degree in Administrative Business Administration (B.A.) or Economics with a focus on Business Administration (BWL); OR University degree in General Administration or completed Advanced Clerk Course II (Angestelltenlehrgang II) with comprehensive training in Municipal Accounting.

Experience

  • Experience in annual financial statement audits or preparation of financial statements (Desired)
  • Experience in procurement law (Advantageous)
  • Professional experience in analyzing and assessing financial transactions
