Job Summary

This leadership role requires a highly motivated IT professional to head the IT Strategy and IT Planning Team (Referat T 31) at Germany's Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in Bonn. The Head is responsible for the strategic and organizational advancement of the IT landscape, overseeing a team of 16 employees and 7 trainees. Key daily activities include planning and controlling BSI's IT operations, managing relationships with external IT service providers, and ensuring compliance with federal IT consolidation guidelines. The role involves evaluating and organizing the provision of new IT services, managing IT demand, and overseeing the entire lifecycle of IT workplace equipment, including highly sensitive VS-NfD capable devices. Furthermore, the position holds responsibility for coordinating the vocational training program for IT Specialists (System Integration) within the BSI. Candidates must possess a scientific university degree (Master’s equivalent) in a relevant technical field and multi-year experience in fundamental ICT and information security.
