Job Summary

This specialist role is crucial for ensuring global trade compliance within the Coatings division of BASF, operating under the Chemetall brand. The primary responsibility involves the accurate customs tariff classification of goods, utilizing international regulations, product specifications, and technical documentation. A significant part of the job focuses on process optimization, including the design and automation of digital tools to enhance efficiency. The specialist acts as the main point of contact, providing expert classification advice to internal stakeholders across business areas, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain functions. Key requirements include a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, coupled with several years of experience and expert knowledge in tariff classification. Proficiency in SAP GTS and EHS systems is mandatory. This position offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement in customs processes and support global compliance and risk mitigation initiatives.
