Job Summary

The Esslingen University of Applied Sciences is seeking an Information Security Officer to join the Law and Organization department. This critical role involves supporting the university management in fulfilling their legal obligations regarding information security and overseeing the implementation and advancement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS), aligned with the 'Information Security of Universities' framework. Key daily tasks include developing security concepts, guidelines, and documentation, establishing IT security measures, investigating security incidents, and managing emergency response plans. You will also be responsible for coordinating and conducting user training and consultations, collaborating closely with the Data Protection Officer and Legal department, and advising university leadership. Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics, coupled with professional experience as an Information Security Officer, ideally within the higher education sector, and expertise in BSI IT-Grundschutz or ISO 27001 methodologies.
