This role involves leading and developing a team of seven focused on special tasks, pedestrian traffic, and road safety within the Public Order Office of Stuttgart. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating innovative concepts to enhance traffic and school route safety, with a particular emphasis on promoting pedestrian traffic and ensuring the safety of vulnerable road users, especially children. Day-to-day tasks include managing the team, overseeing the development of school route planning and 'Superblocks' projects, handling complex legal cases, and representing the road traffic authority in various forums. This position offers a chance to make a significant impact on urban mobility and safety, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to create a safer environment for citizens.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Public Management, FH-Diplom-Verwaltungswirt/-in, or equivalent Bachelor's degree, or Verwaltungsfachwirt/-in (former Angestelltenlehrgang II), or Verwaltungswirt/-in with successful advancement to the higher non-technical administrative service.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in public order administration
  • Professional experience, preferably in a road traffic authority
  • In-depth knowledge of road traffic law, general administrative law, and road law
