Job Summary
This role involves developing and implementing a strategic roadmap for AI, Machine Learning (ML), Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR) within geodata management and urban data platforms. The specialist will continuously evaluate new technologies and research trends in these fields, assessing their potential application and coordinating information flow to colleagues. A key part of the role is defining technical IT interfaces for geodata infrastructure and urban data platforms, as well as creating demonstrators and prototypes using AI, VR, and AR in spatially referenced software applications. This position is ideal for someone passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance urban development and data management for public services.
Required Skills
Education
University degree with an IT focus (preferably Computer Science, Media Informatics, or Geoinformatics) OR qualification for general administrative service (e.g., Bachelor of Laws/Arts from HSPV NRW, completed Verwaltungslehrgang II, or Diploma in Administrative Business Administration)
Experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in IT or digitalization
- Professional experience with AI frameworks and tools
- Professional experience in Extended Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality technologies (research or development)
- Prior experience with 3D modeling and established game engines is advantageous
- Familiarity with legal frameworks (e.g., GDPR, BDSG, AI Regulation)
- Basic knowledge of Geodata Infrastructure (GDI) or Urban Data Platform (UDP)
