Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Resource Genetics and Reproduction working group in managing the Gatersleben gene bank collection. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating various experiments, including the cultivation, harvesting, and seed processing of plants in both open fields and greenhouses. Key tasks include evaluating morphological, physiological, and agronomic traits, performing interspecies crosses, and independently collecting and preparing data for statistical analysis. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to significant research in plant genetic resources and reproduction, working within a supportive team environment. It requires strong botanical knowledge, experience with experimental cultures, and excellent computer skills for data management and analysis.

Required Skills

Education

Completed training as a Biological Technical Assistant, Agricultural Technical Assistant, Biology Laboratory Technician, Plant Technologist, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in supervising experimental cultures
  • Professional experience in data evaluation using Excel, R, or similar programs
