Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the functionality of a central building management system by inspecting, monitoring, programming, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and large-scale electrical systems. The specialist will operate decentralized control stations, optimize parameters for energy efficiency, and perform functional checks on new installations. Key responsibilities include creating trend records using building automation software to visualize media consumption and system behavior, as well as regulating heat generation plants and monitoring fire protection, power distribution, and hygiene facilities. The position requires participation in on-call and standby duties and a commitment to continuous professional development. This is a full-time, permanent position with the Bundeswehr, offering an attractive salary and benefits, based in Hannover.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electrician specializing in Energy and Building Technology or Automation and System Technology, or a comparable electro-technical vocational training. A system-specific certificate of expertise from SAUTER is required or willingness to obtain it. Additional professional training in measurement, control, and regulation technology is beneficial for higher salary classification.

Experience

  • Practical experience in building automation (e.g., with Kieback&Peter, JohnsonControls, or Sauter automation systems) is desired
  • Knowledge of relevant technical regulations is desired
  • Good understanding of the structure and operating principles of building automation, including connections to various systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitary, electrical, cooling, hazard detection systems) is desired
  • Interdisciplinary understanding in the field of technical building equipment is desired

  • Valid Class B driver's license (German). Willingness to obtain a Bundeswehr Class B driver's license. Agreement to drive official vehicles. Agreement to participate in a medical examination. Commitment to the liberal democratic basic order as per the German Basic Law. Willingness to perform on-call and standby duties. Willingness to participate in regular and advanced training. Position to be filled by January 1, 2026. For foreign educational qualifications, proof of recognition in Germany is required.
