Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to join the Nuclear Spectroscopy department at GSI Helmholtzzentrum, a leading heavy-ion research center in Darmstadt, Germany. As an Experimental Nuclear Physics Researcher, you will lead and contribute to the HISPEC/DESPEC project, a core component of the NUSTAR program at the new FAIR facility. Your day-to-day will involve developing detector systems, conducting experiments at GSI/FAIR and other labs, and coordinating a local research team. You will also be crucial in data analysis, mentoring students, and disseminating scientific results through publications and international conferences, advancing our understanding of nuclear shape evolution and shell structure far from stability. This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. and post-doctoral experience in experimental nuclear physics and spectroscopy, who thrives in a world-class scientific environment.
