Job Summary
This role involves supporting and maintaining cutting-edge data acquisition (DAQ) and slow-control systems for nuclear physics experiments at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum and the new FAIR facility, one of the world's largest research projects. The specialist will be instrumental in setting up and implementing DAQ systems for the Super-FRS experiment collaboration, integrating detectors, and collaborating with the broader NUSTAR-DAQ group. Day-to-day tasks include operating, maintaining, and upgrading existing FRS DAQ systems, providing support to various experiment groups, and representing the Super-FRS collaboration on DAQ matters. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to world-leading scientific research in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or Diploma in Physics, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in nuclear physics
- Proven expertise and experience in DAQ development and/or DAQ operation, preferably with MBS and in comparable scientific environments
- Demonstrated ability to integrate into an experiment team

- Limited to two-year contract duration
