Job Summary

This role is for an Environmental Protection Engineer within the Building Administration and Environmental Office, focusing on environmental protection. Day-to-day tasks involve independently managing state waste law enforcement, including monitoring, investigation, and regulatory duties, as well as providing technical support for the waste monitoring system (ASYS). The engineer will also handle approval and enforcement procedures under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and the Circular Economy Act (KrWG), conduct plant monitoring, and provide expert opinions for urban development and building permit procedures. This position offers an engaging and varied work environment within a dynamic city administration, contributing to the quality of life for citizens and shaping the city's future.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed technical-engineering degree (B.Eng. or Dipl.-Ing.) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Protection, or a comparable field; OR Qualification for the 3rd qualification level of the Natural Sciences and Technology career path, with a focus on civil engineering and environmental administration, specialized in Technical Environmental Protection.

Experience

  • Professional experience in environmental protection, specifically in immission control and waste law enforcement
  • Experience with approval and enforcement procedures under BImSchG and KrWG
  • Experience with plant monitoring according to BImSchG
