Job Summary
This role involves comprehensive technical processing and oversight in plant-related environmental protection, with a strong focus on water law, for the Neukölln district of Berlin. The successful candidate will join a 7-person team, dedicating their expertise to water law, immission control, and waste law, thereby significantly contributing to environmental and human protection from harmful impacts. Key responsibilities include processing cases related to water law, advising plant operators and construction professionals, and technically assessing and monitoring facilities for compliance with water-hazardous substances regulations and wastewater treatment standards. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's or Diploma (FH) degree in Environmental Engineering, Technical Environmental Protection, Process Engineering, Environmental Technology, Hydrology and Water Management, Green Technologies: Energy, Water, Climate, or a comparable degree with a focus on water law.
Experience
- Professional experience in processing cases related to water law, AwSV, and IndV
- Experience in advising plant operators, builders, architects, and engineering firms on water law regulations
- Experience in technical assessment and monitoring of facilities for compliance with water-hazardous substances regulations and wastewater treatment
- Experience in evaluating and monitoring wastewater discharge conditions and treatment plants
- Experience in preparing statements for approval procedures under the Federal Immission Control Act
- Willingness to guide junior staff (trainees, interns, dual students) if required
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to conduct fieldwork and perform duties at unusual hours (evenings, nights, weekends) if necessary. German language proficiency is required for application documents. Must be eligible to work in Germany.
