Job Summary

The German Cancer Research Center is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist in Radiopharmaceutical Development to join the Junior Research Group "Translational Radiotheranostics." This role focuses on developing novel small-molecule and peptide-based radioligands for diagnostic, therapeutic, and theranostic applications, involving rational drug design, synthetic route development, and comprehensive chemical and radiochemical characterization. The successful candidate will optimize labeling protocols, evaluate compound stability, and perform functional characterization using in vitro assays. Responsibilities also include preparing scientific manuscripts, contributing to grant proposals, and co-supervising graduate students. This interdisciplinary position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cancer research, aiming to prevent cancer through personalized radiodiagnostics and targeted radionuclide therapy.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree and PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related field. Academic or research focus on drug design, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, coordination/complexation chemistry, or radiopharmaceutical sciences is particularly advantageous.
