Job Summary

This role is for a Research Scientist specializing in the integrative analysis of high-throughput molecular data within the Core Unit for Molecular Tumor Diagnostics (CMTD) at the NCT-Dresden. The successful candidate will independently develop and apply software pipelines for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis in translational research projects and clinical studies. Key responsibilities include project supervision for bioinformatic data evaluation, collaborating closely with clinical staff, biologists, and bioinformaticians, and interpreting high-throughput data within a biological context for clinical findings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge translational cancer research, develop new bioinformatic methods for OMICs data analysis, and establish personal projects and publications, all within a supportive and interdisciplinary team environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline. Doctorate preferred.

Experience

  • Practical experience in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis (e.g., transcriptome and exome sequencing)
  • Experience in developing and applying software pipelines for NGS data analysis
  • Experience in bioinformatic data evaluation and study planning
  • Experience in translational research projects and clinical studies
  • Experience in developing new bioinformatic methods
