Job Summary
The Bergische Universität Wuppertal is seeking two skilled Electrical Engineers/Network Technicians to join its Building, Security, and Environmental Management department. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and network systems across the university's facilities. Key tasks include independently identifying and resolving faults, performing installations and modifications on building technology and control systems, and managing the internal fiber optic infrastructure. You will also coordinate external service providers, monitor their work quality, and participate in an on-call duty rotation. This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse technical systems in a dynamic university environment, ensuring the smooth operation of critical infrastructure.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in electrical engineering (e.g., Energy Systems Electrician for Building Technology, Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, IT Systems Electronics Technician, or comparable qualification)
Experience
- Professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably as an energy systems electrician for building technology, electronics technician for devices and systems, or IT systems electronics technician
- Experience with network technology
- Experience with VDE regulations and technical standards
- Experience in operating and maintaining internal fiber optic infrastructure
- Experience in operating and maintaining physical network structures related to transmission, communication, and network technology
