Job Summary
This role involves the central operation, monitoring, and maintenance of technical building systems and server infrastructure at Bergische Universität Wuppertal. The specialist will be responsible for managing data points for HVAC systems, network administration, and developing/maintaining a technical network, including BACnet implementation. Key tasks include analyzing system vulnerabilities, resolving technical faults, creating system schematics, and documenting work in a CAFM system. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to the planning and implementation of new building management systems and includes participation in an on-call service. This is an attractive opportunity for a professional with expertise in IT systems, electrical engineering, or building automation to ensure the smooth operation of critical university infrastructure.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in IT System Electronics or comparable knowledge/skills, OR completed vocational training in Electrical Engineering (e.g., Electronics Technician for Automation Technology, Electronics Technician for Building Technology), OR state-certified Technician in Building System Technology or Automation Technology.
Experience
- Professional experience in the administration of computer systems and networks
- Professional experience in building management systems
- Experience and operation in computer systems (Windows, Linux desirable)
- Experience in building management systems at the management level (e.g., Siemens Desigo Insight, Visonik Insight, GfR Webvision) desirable
- Knowledge of BPS/PRV2 controllers (Landis-Gyr brand) desirable
- Experience in control cabinet construction desirable

- Participation in on-call service required. Full-time position, part-time possible. Work permit for Germany required.
