Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a dynamic research team at Bergische Universität Wuppertal. The successful candidate will focus on the research and development of broadband integrated RF circuits for innovative applications in sensor technology and material characterization, as part of the TRR 196 MARIE collaborative research center. Day-to-day tasks will involve gaining hands-on experience in the entire chip development process, from conceptual design of new system architectures and circuit development to the metrological characterization of chips using state-of-the-art CMOS/SiGe-HBT technologies. The position requires close collaboration with internal and external academic partners, scientific communication of research results at international conferences and in journals, and support in acquiring third-party funding. This is an attractive position for someone looking to pursue a PhD while contributing to cutting-edge research in high-frequency systems.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Micro/Nanoelectronics and Integrated Circuit Development

Experience

  • Practical experience in the development of integrated RF/millimeter-wave circuits in CMOS or SiGe-HBT technologies (advantageous)
  • Experience with EDA design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, ADS, HFSS, Sonnet (advantageous)

  • This is a qualification position intended for the promotion of a doctoral procedure (PhD). The position is limited for the duration of the doctoral procedure, initially for up to 3 years, with a possible extension within the limits of the German Fixed-Term Employment Contracts in Academia Act (WissZeitVG) to complete the PhD. Full-time position, part-time possible.
