This role involves contributing to the conceptualization and advancement of electronic identity (eID) and identification systems, particularly for mobile devices, and evaluating new eID technologies. The successful candidate will manage development projects related to eID, including testing solutions and concepts. Key responsibilities also include drafting technical guidelines and specifications for eID systems, representing German interests in standardization bodies and international government forums, and advising public and private stakeholders on digitalization projects. Required Skills

Education

University Diploma/Master's degree in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, IT Security, Physics, Mathematics, Telecommunications, Communication Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable relevant field with an IT/technical focus.

Experience

  • Experience in evaluating electronic identities (e.g., according to eIDAS or BSI-TR-03107 or similar)
  • Experience with internationally recognized standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 / IT-Grundschutz and ISO/IEC 15408 / Common Criteria

Additional

  • Willingness to participate in further training and occasional business trips (potentially multi-day). Consent to an extended security clearance check (Sicherheitsüberprüfung nach § 9 SÜG) is required. For foreign educational qualifications, proof of equivalence with a German degree from the Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen (ZAB) is necessary.
