Job Summary

Join the Quantum Computing and Technologies Department (QCT) at LRZ as a Low-level Quantum Control Engineer, playing a pivotal role in integrating quantum computers into the Munich Quantum Software Stack. You will contribute to cutting-edge research in automated calibration, pulse-level control, and noise-based simulation, acting as a crucial link between quantum labs and HPC centers. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced hardware technologies, develop programming models, OS, compilers, and abstraction layers for various quantum technologies, and publish new developments. You'll be instrumental in merging quantum and HPC workflows, advancing scientific research, and solidifying Bavaria's position as a global quantum innovation hub.

Required Skills

Education

MS or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering Sciences

Experience

  • 6+ years in research and software development with an MS in Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering Sciences, or 2+ years with a PhD
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, for managing CI/CD and software versioning
  • Experience in quantum computer labs (highly valuable)
