Job Summary
This doctoral researcher position at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge electrical quantum metrology. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building and characterizing an optically driven multi-channel Josephson Arbitrary Waveform Synthesizer (JAWS) for high-precision voltage measurements. Day-to-day tasks involve hands-on experimental setup, system characterization using modern signal processing, verification through precision experiments, and extensive suitability testing for metrological applications. The role also includes publishing scientific results and presenting at international conferences. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diplom/Master) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or comparable field with at least a "good" grade
Experience
- Practical experience in precision measurement technology, high-frequency technology, superconductivity, optical measurement technology, photonics, or optical engineering
- Strong interest and aptitude for experimental activities
- Independent and self-reliant working style
