Job Summary

Join the national metrology institute, PTB, in Berlin-Charlottenburg, as an IT Specialist focused on network technologies. This role is crucial for maintaining a high-performance and secure communication infrastructure supporting servers, measuring systems, and mobile devices across the organization. Day-to-day responsibilities include the operation, administration, and configuration of LAN/WLAN and the PTB-wide TK/VoIP infrastructure. You will also be involved in the evaluation and introduction of new IT solutions, developing customized internal applications, and providing essential 3rd level support and fault analysis in Windows and Linux environments. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or relevant IT training/professional experience, and possesses strong knowledge of network switches, WLAN (ideally Aruba), and server administration. This is a permanent, full-time position offering high technical depth and direct influence on innovative solutions.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or comparable, or completed vocational training in the IT sector.

Experience

  • Professional experience as an IT specialist or career changer (Quereinsteiger)
  • Experience in the administration of network switches and WLAN (Aruba preferred)
  • Experience in administering Windows and Linux servers
