Job Summary

This role involves supporting the 'Analysis and Simulation in Explosion Protection' working group at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig, Germany, by contributing to a DFG-funded research project focused on triboelectric charge exchange during particle collisions. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing innovative experiments, including acoustic levitation setups for single particle analysis, conducting charging and ignition experiments, and subsequently developing a theoretical model based on the experimental findings. Key qualifications include a completed Master's degree in Engineering Science or Physics, expertise in areas like measurement technology, electrostatics, or particle technology, and familiarity with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB. This is a unique opportunity to conduct independent, internationally visible research at the intersection of theory and experiment within a leading national metrology institute.
