Job Summary

This role involves supporting cutting-edge metrological applications within the Physical Technical Federal Institute (PTB) in Berlin-Adlershof, specifically focusing on Radiometry with Synchrotron Radiation. The successful candidate will prepare, execute, and evaluate high-precision measurements using synchrotron radiation, such as reflectometric measurements, in collaboration with international industrial and research partners. A key focus is the advancement of optical components for EUV semiconductor lithography and space-based astronomy. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining and servicing complex measuring facilities, particularly beamlines, and continuously refining measurement procedures and evaluation protocols. This position is ideal for an engineer with expertise in physical technology, optics, and vacuum techniques, offering the chance to contribute directly to global innovation in high-tech fields.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diplom-FH/Bachelor) in Physical Technology or comparable field

Experience

  • Professional experience in preparing, conducting, and evaluating measurements
  • Professional experience in the maintenance and servicing of complex measuring facilities
  • Experience working in international cooperation partnerships (Industry and Research)
  • Experience with continuous development of measurement procedures
