Job Summary

This role involves supporting the 'Fundamentals of Explosion Protection' division at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig, focusing on a third-party funded research project investigating the explosive properties of flammable multi-phase mixtures. The Research Scientist will be responsible for developing methods to determine the ignitability of electrical and electrostatic ignition sources in hybrid dust-gas mixtures. Key tasks include the planning, execution, and evaluation of complex experimental investigations, addressing scientific questions related to ignition behavior and explosion progression, and presenting/publishing research findings internationally. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, possess strong knowledge of high voltage systems and corresponding measurement technology, and demonstrate practical laboratory experience.
