Job Summary
This role is for a highly motivated Technical Assistant or Laboratory Technician to join the Institute of Microbiology at the University of Greifswald. The successful candidate will be integral to the new DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre "Carbon Sequestration in Å-Resolution – CONCENTRATE," focusing on marine research. Day-to-day tasks will involve conducting experiments for proteome analysis of marine microorganisms, cultivating pure and mixed cultures, and preparing and analyzing samples using mass spectrometry. The position requires establishing and optimizing new methods for proteomic analysis and actively participating in project meetings. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research on carbon sequestration in oceans, working within a collaborative and interdisciplinary team.
Required Skills
Education
Biological-Technical Assistant (BTA) or Biology Laboratory Technician, or comparable qualification with equivalent skills and experience
Experience
- Professional experience in experimental scientific work
- Experience in proteome analysis (protein sample preparation, HPLC, mass spectrometry)
- Experience in data processing of proteomic data (e.g., MaxQuant, Mascot)
