Job Summary

This role is for a passionate Bioinformatics Data Analyst to join an interdisciplinary team at TRON, focusing on Systems Immunology & Medicine. The successful candidate will be instrumental in processing and analyzing complex multi-omics data, including high-throughput sequencing data from cancer patients, utilizing both innovative internal and publicly available software solutions. Day-to-day tasks involve supporting PhD students, engineers, and scientists with reproducible bioinformatics data analysis, contributing to the development of new analysis solutions, and critically evaluating and presenting results. This position offers the chance to apply computational approaches and predictive models to improve the efficacy of immunotherapies, particularly in cancer, within a dynamic and collaborative research environment.

Required Skills

Education

M.Sc. degree in (Bio-)Informatics, Computer Science, or a comparable study program

Experience

  • At least two years of work experience in bioinformatic data analysis
  • Strong expertise in reproducible bioinformatics data analysis in Python or R
  • Experience analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data
  • Hands-on expertise with version control systems (e.g., git), workflow managers (e.g., Nextflow or Snakemake), and high-performance computing environments
  • Experience with data analysis of mass spectrometry-based proteomics and immunopeptidomics is a plus
