Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital three-year research project, PSY-DIVER, focused on improving diversity-sensitive psychiatric-psychotherapeutic care in Germany. As a Research Assistant, you will provide crucial administrative and organizational support, assist with literature reviews, and help conduct co-creation workshops and project steering group meetings. A key part of your day-to-day will involve supporting qualitative and quantitative primary data collection through interviews and online surveys, as well as assisting with data analysis using R. You'll also contribute to the implementation of Natural Language Processing (NLP) feature extraction by creating language classification rules. This position is ideal for a student eager to gain hands-on experience in health services research, particularly in the context of mental health and diversity, within a multidisciplinary team.

Required Skills

Education

Enrollment as a student in Medicine, Health Sciences, Psychology, Social Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences, Health Economics, or similar fields

Experience

  • Interest in health services research projects
  • Interest in clinical-psychiatric care and diversity aspects in mental health
  • Willingness to learn technical skills for NLP algorithms and R data analysis
  • Interest in participatory collaboration with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals

Additional

  • Proof of sufficient measles protection (unless born before 1971 or exempt from legal vaccination requirements) is required before signing an employment contract. The position is part-time (up to 19.25 hours/week) and temporary for 36 months, until October 31, 2028. Start date is November 1, 2025. Location is Cologne, Germany.
