Job Summary

This role involves contributing to the development of innovative materials and processes that significantly enhance the performance of SPECT systems within Siemens Healthineers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical evaluation of semiconductor-based detectors and crystal growth methods, analyzing II-VI bulk crystals for defects, and collaborating with international development teams to improve crystal growth processes. Day-to-day tasks include designing and conducting laboratory measurements, supporting the development of detector models, and facilitating technical knowledge transfer across global business units. This position offers a dynamic environment to grow professionally and personally, contributing to the future of healthcare technology.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering with a focus on Physics, Materials Science, Crystal Growth, Semiconductor Technology, or a comparable field. A doctorate in this area is desirable but not required.

Experience

  • Many years of professional experience in crystal growth, material analysis, or in the industrial semiconductor manufacturing environment
  • Laboratory experience, particularly with toxic hazardous substances
  • Ideally, experience in the production or material analysis of CdTe or CZT

  • Willingness to travel internationally to other development sites (e.g., USA) as needed (approx. 5-10%).
