Job Summary
This PhD position offers an exciting opportunity for an international PhD student to join the structured Graduate School Life Science Engineering at TU Darmstadt, as part of the EU MSCA-COFUND program trainLSE. The role focuses on cutting-edge research in innovative Raman-spectroscopic techniques for critical applications such as drug monitoring in biofluids, gas sensing, and biomedical imaging. Working at the interdisciplinary nexus of physics, chemistry, engineering, and life sciences, the successful candidate will contribute to developing novel optical spectroscopic methods for non-invasive disease diagnostics, therapy monitoring, and high-resolution chemical imaging. This position is ideal for highly motivated individuals eager to push the boundaries of life science engineering within a vibrant international research community, offering a full-time employment contract until March 2029.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in life sciences or engineering disciplines
Experience
- Not in possession of a doctoral degree
- Professional experience in life sciences or engineering disciplines (Master's degree obtained no more than 5 years ago)
- Research experience in innovative Raman-spectroscopic techniques (implied by project focus)

- Must not have been resident in Germany for more than 12 months in the last three years before application deadline (exceptions: compulsory military service, refugee status)
