Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated international PhD students to join the EU MSCA-COFUND program trainLSE at TU Darmstadt's Graduate School Life Science Engineering. The program offers three distinct research positions within the Self-Organizing Systems Lab, focusing on cutting-edge areas such as AI methods for molecular design and synthetic biology, bottom-up construction of artificial cells, and the design of gene-therapeutic circuits. Successful candidates will engage in interdisciplinary research, combining computational modeling with wet-lab experiments. The roles involve developing novel AI methods for biomolecule design, constructing programmable artificial cell compartments, or designing and optimizing gene-therapeutic circuits for cancer research. This program provides a dynamic research environment, fostering innovation at the intersection of life sciences and engineering.
Required Skills
Education
Excellent Master's degree in life sciences, computer science, mathematics, theoretical physics, electrical engineering, biochemistry, polymer chemistry, biophysics, or molecular biology
Experience
- Research experience in synthetic biology or related fields
- Experience with computational modeling and/or wet-lab experiments
Languages
Additional
- Must not be in possession of a doctoral degree
- Master's degree obtained no more than 5 years ago
- Must not have been resident in Germany for more than 12 months in the last three years before application deadline (exceptions: compulsory military service, refugee status)
