Job Summary

This role involves the independent engineering and technical processing of tasks related to soil and groundwater protection, as well as contaminated sites. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and evaluating soil and groundwater contamination, responding to reports of soil contamination, conducting initial assessments for accidents involving water-hazardous substances, and overseeing construction projects and remediation measures. The specialist will also handle inquiries related to environmental information laws, provide expert opinions on construction projects, maintain the soil contamination database, and conduct research on potentially contaminated areas. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to environmental protection within the Berlin administration, with the added flexibility of potential part-time work and a focus on work-life balance.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences degree in Engineering (Diplom-Ingenieur) or Bachelor's degree in Soil Protection/Contaminated Sites, Geological Sciences, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Engineering

Experience

  • Professional experience in soil and groundwater protection
  • Professional experience with contaminated sites
  • Experience in monitoring construction projects and remediation measures

Languages
