Job Summary

This role involves critical project controlling and financial management within the Construction Management Department of the Tempelhof-Schöneberg District Office in Berlin. The officer will be responsible for the entire controlling cycle—planning, data acquisition, steering, monitoring (target/actual comparison), analysis, and reporting—for construction maintenance budgets, investment measures, and special funds. Key duties include setting up and maintaining a robust reporting system for fund management, analyzing deviations from targets, initiating corrective steering measures, and preparing data for political committees. The position also supports the preparation of the annual budget and investment planning, including processing applications for supplementary funds. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring a relevant university degree in public administration, business administration, or engineering, and highly proficient German language skills (C1 level).

Required Skills

Education

Completed relevant university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in fields such as Public Administration, Administration and Law, Business Administration, Public and Non-Profit Management, Facility Management, or Industrial Engineering. Alternatively, meeting the civil service requirements for the first entry level of career group 2 in General Administrative Services.

Experience

  • Professional experience in project controlling or financial management (implied by role requirements)
  • Experience with public sector budgeting and financial processes (Haushaltsplanaufstellung)
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining reporting systems
