Job Summary

The Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) is seeking a motivated and committed Research Group Leader to head their Plant-Microorganism Systems team. This role involves developing and implementing an innovative research strategy focused on plant-microbe interactions, particularly plant resistance to pathogens in horticultural crops, utilizing advanced methods like (meta)genomics, (meta)transcriptomics, metabolomics, and bioinformatics. The successful candidate will secure funding, publish research in international journals, collaborate with national and international partners, and transfer research findings into horticultural production systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional to lead a scientific team, contribute to cutting-edge research, and potentially secure a permanent position and a W2-S professorship at Humboldt University in Berlin.
