Job Summary

This three-year, fixed-term position as a PhD Student in Plant Biology at the Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) is part of a DFG-funded project focused on understanding how intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) and prion-like domains (PLDs) regulate the temperature responsiveness of HSF transcription factors in *Arabidopsis thaliana*. The role involves executing the full experimental pipeline, including cloning, construct creation, designing and running plant growth and survival assays under heat stress, and performing protein biochemistry and molecular biological investigations, such as gene expression analysis. Key requirements include a Master's or Diploma degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field, sound knowledge of plant stress and temperature signaling, and practical experience with molecular biological methods. The position, which is 65% of regular working time, offers the significant opportunity to pursue a doctorate at the University of Potsdam within an inspiring, dynamic, and international research environment near Berlin and Potsdam.
