Job Summary
This Post-Doctoral Fellow will join AbbVie's Pharmaceutical Development department in Ludwigshafen, focusing on understanding and mitigating freeze-thaw instability in biologic drug substances. The role involves designing, conducting, and evaluating systematic studies to explore root causes of protein damage during freezing and thawing, with a particular emphasis on excipient crystallization. The successful candidate will publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, present at conferences, and collaborate with international multidisciplinary teams. Required Skills
Education
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related area
Experience
- Professional experience in biophysics and crystallography (preferred)
- Experience with WAXS/SAXS, thermal analyses, and vibrational spectroscopies (preferred)
- Work experience in the field of protein aggregation (advantageous)
- Experience with analytical methods to detect protein denaturation and aggregation, and to detect/characterize particles in solution (advantageous)
- Record of scientific initiative and creativity in research or development activities
