Job Summary

The Technical University Dresden, in collaboration with Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), is seeking a Research Associate or Doctoral Candidate to join a dynamic team focused on advancing Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS). This role involves optimizing ion-laser interactions, developing 182Hf-AMS for detecting interstellar atoms, and operating/optimizing an ion source. The successful candidate will also support SuperSIMS measurements and implement a new compact ionization chamber for AMS. This position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art AMS systems and contribute to cutting-edge research in geology, environmental sciences, and nuclear astrophysics within an internationally collaborative environment.

Required Skills

Education

Very good university degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Chemistry)

Experience

  • Interest in new AMS measurement strategies
  • Experience with programming languages common for accelerator facilities (e.g., Python, C) is advantageous
