Job Summary

This position offers a unique opportunity for a PhD student to join the DFG-funded Research Training Group "AirMetro" at TUD Dresden University of Technology, focusing on the system-level impact analysis of Innovative Air Mobility (IAM) in urban areas. The core work involves developing and expanding agent-based transport simulation models, specifically within the MATSim framework, to analyze how IAM services affect travel behavior, including mode and destination choice. The researcher will distinguish between IAM demand resulting from shifts from existing transport modes and newly induced demand. This interdisciplinary role requires collaboration with researchers across five faculties and the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), offering a structured PhD program with international mentorship to address the complex technical and social challenges of integrating highly automated air transport into urban mobility systems.
