Job Summary
This Postdoctoral Researcher position at the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre in Frankfurt am Main focuses on understanding how ecological networks between plants and animals underpin the supply of nature's contributions to people (NCP) within the Kilimanjaro social-ecological system in Tanzania. The successful candidate will conduct internationally recognized research, develop new approaches to analyze species interactions, contribute to synthesizing scientific insights for sustainable human-nature relationships, and publish findings in high-impact journals. The role also involves proactive contribution to an interdisciplinary research unit, mentoring early-career researchers, and potential teaching opportunities. Required Skills
Education
Doctoral degree (completed or soon to be completed) in biology, ecology, or a closely related field
Experience
- Proven experience in conceptual work on social-ecological systems using network approaches
- Proven experience in ecological fieldwork in Africa and on tropical mountains
- Strong publication record demonstrating research excellence and experience in conceptual work relative to career stage
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Experience in conducting research in an interdisciplinary context
- Teaching experience (desirable)

- Temporary contract, limited to 3 years. Location: Frankfurt am Main. Part-time options available (minimum 75%).
