Job Summary

This role at TU Dresden's Institute for Nuclear and Particle Physics, in close collaboration with Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), seeks a Research Associate or Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) system. The successful candidate will focus on enhancing measurement efficiency and accuracy for AMS and SIMS measurements, particularly through a novel approach involving negative ion deceleration in an ion cooler. Day-to-day tasks include developing and integrating EPICS as the central control software, automating accelerator component settings using machine learning algorithms, and creating remote or autonomous measurement capabilities. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, internationally collaborative team, applying advanced AMS techniques to fields like geology, environmental science, and nuclear astrophysics, while also pursuing further scientific qualification.
