This role involves shaping the future of railway infrastructure by driving the technical and strategic direction of planning and acceptance testing for control and safety technology (LST) systems. The specialist will conceptualize and implement nationwide standards for testing procedures, develop certified IT-supported testing tools in collaboration with the EBA, and ensure their ongoing certification and improvement. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on optimizing processes, integrating new technologies, and working closely with various departments and manufacturers to minimize project-specific testing requirements. The role offers the flexibility to choose a primary work location in Germany and balance mobile and office work, contributing to the sustainable maintenance and development of critical infrastructure for future generations.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Communication Technology, or a comparable field

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in control and safety technology
  • Several years of professional experience with safety-relevant systems in railway infrastructure
  • Long-term project experience in tests, validations, or safety case management for specific system types (ideally)
  • Familiarity with requirements, development, testing, roll-out, and operation of safety-relevant IT applications in the railway sector
  • Professional experience in complex project environments
