Job Summary

This role is for a (Junior) Project Engineer focusing on the planning and execution of railway electrification projects in North-East Bavaria, based in Nuremberg. The successful candidate will act as a key driver in the early planning phases, ensuring the future-proof design of railway lines, including overhead contact lines, energy systems, signaling, track systems, and structural engineering works (bridges, retaining walls). Day-to-day responsibilities involve supporting project management across various service phases (HOAI), managing multi-disciplinary sub-projects, and ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The position requires a degree in a relevant engineering field, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external partners, including local authorities and municipalities. This is a crucial role in developing Germany's sustainable infrastructure for future generations, offering extensive onboarding, mentorship, and clear career progression opportunities within the Deutsche Bahn Group.

Required Skills

Education

University degree or technical college degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable field of study

Experience

  • Knowledge or experience in project work related to (railway) infrastructure projects is advantageous
  • Knowledge in the areas of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and AEG (General Railway Act) is beneficial
