Job Summary
This role offers a unique opportunity for a Civil Engineer with a specialization in water resources or hydraulic engineering to join the Lower Saxony State Department for Water Management, Coastal and Nature Conservation (NLWKN). Based in Salzderhelden, Göttingen, or Braunschweig, you will primarily lead the technical operations and maintenance of critical flood retention basins and dams within the Leine and Oker river basins. Day-to-day tasks involve coordinating and overseeing maintenance, managing new construction and repair projects, and ensuring compliance with water management and nature conservation regulations. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Dipl.-Ing. (FH)) in Civil Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydraulic Engineering.
Experience
- Professional experience in hydraulic engineering or water resources management
- Experience with standard regulations for awarding contracts (VgV, VOB, HOAI)
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (WHG, NWG, DIN 19700, DIN 1076)

- Valid Class B (or old Class 3) driving license required; willingness to drive official vehicles. Ability to swim. Willingness to perform year-round outdoor activities, including in adverse weather conditions. Willingness to be on-call and work weekends. Readiness to assume deputy head of department responsibilities.
