Job Summary

The Technical University of Dresden (TUD), in collaboration with the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), is seeking a Research Associate/Postdoctoral Researcher for a project focused on developing advanced laser systems. The successful candidate will primarily work on designing and developing a high-power, tunable 100-picosecond laser amplifier system with MHz pulse repetition rate, aiming for over 50W output power at a frequency-quadrupled 257.5 nm wavelength. This system is crucial for laser cooling of relativistic ion beams at the future SIS100 Heavy Ion Synchrotron at FAIR in Darmstadt, and for optical scanning of relativistic laser-plasma processes at HZDR. The role requires expertise in laser physics and a willingness to engage in campaign-oriented, international team collaboration, contributing to cutting-edge research in nuclear and particle physics.
