Job Summary
The Bundesamt für Bauwesen und Raumordnung (BBR) is seeking a Project Management Engineer specializing in Electrical and Communications Engineering for its Berlin office. This role involves acting as the client representative for construction projects, particularly for the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM), managing the full project lifecycle from goal setting and financial oversight to coordination of external contractors and quality control. The position requires a professional with extensive experience in electrical and communications engineering projects within complex and existing buildings, strong project management skills, and a solid understanding of public construction and contract law. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer to contribute to significant federal building projects, ensuring high standards of design, technology, and cost-effectiveness.
Required Skills
Education
University of Applied Sciences or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Communications Engineering, or comparable qualification
Experience
- Long-term experience in all HOAI service phases, especially in planning, management, and execution of electrical and communications engineering projects in complex buildings
- Experience in existing building renovation and ongoing operations
- Profound knowledge in project management and steering complex, technically demanding construction measures
- Professional experience in public building, procurement, and contract law
- Experience in (technical) leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration

- Proof of recognition for foreign university degrees required (ZAB). For Beamte: Salary group up to A 12 BBesO and eligibility for the higher technical administrative service. Eligibility for the higher technical administrative service according to § 24 Bundeslaufbahnverordnung is also accepted.
