Job Summary

The GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel is seeking a Biologist to join its Biological Oceanography research unit. This role is integral to a research project investigating the contribution of marine macrophytes, specifically Fucus, to natural climate protection. The successful candidate will focus on analyzing organic carbon production, exudation, and decomposition processes within macrophyte populations. Required Skills

Education

Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biological Oceanography, Marine Botany, Limnology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field

  • Knowledge of primary production and exudation of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) is advantageous
  • Ability and willingness to participate in marine scientific expeditions
