Job Summary
This role involves ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of electrical and building systems at the German Weather Service's Offenbach facility. The specialist will be crucial in operating high-voltage, emergency power, and UPS systems, maintaining hazard prevention systems, and supporting the German Meteorological Computing Center. Key responsibilities also include coordinating with external contractors and assisting in construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a background as an electrician or mechatronics technician, possess electrical specialist qualifications, and be prepared for on-call duties and occasional travel. Required Skills
Education
Completed relevant vocational training, e.g., as an Electrician or Mechatronics Technician; Qualification as an Electrical Specialist
Experience
- Professional experience in operating electrical systems, including medium voltage, emergency power, and UPS systems
- Experience in maintaining hazard prevention systems
- Experience in supporting specialized companies and construction measures
- Desirable: In-depth knowledge of complex building operations and technical building equipment (TGA)
- Desirable: Experience with energy supply and distribution systems, generator systems, USV, medium voltage systems, BUS systems, and building automation

- Driving license (PKW) with willingness to drive official vehicles; Willingness to undertake single and multi-day business trips; Consent to participate in an on-call system; Ability to reach the service location within approximately 45 minutes during on-call duty; Successful security clearance according to § 9 SÜG within the probationary period; Physical fitness for strenuous activities and working at heights.
