Job Summary

The German Weather Service (DWD) is seeking a dedicated Marketing Strategy and Sales Coordination Officer to join their Marketing and Internal Communications department. This role is crucial for ensuring a unified strategic marketing approach for DWD's meteorological services and data products, aligning with legal requirements like the DWD Act and Open Data Directive. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans for data products, analyzing market trends, user needs, and the competitive landscape to support sales efforts. This position involves coordinating marketing initiatives, collaborating with sales units across different business areas, and organizing workshops on marketing and sales for meteorological and climate services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic marketing or sales, preferably with experience in meteorological/climatological data products or the public sector, and possess excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Business Administration, Administrative Sciences (preferably with a focus on Marketing, Sales, or Data Product Management), Communication Sciences, Political Sciences, or Natural Sciences (preferably Meteorology or Physics)

Experience

  • Professional experience in strategic marketing and sales, preferably in meteorological and climatological data products, digitalization, meteorology, or the public sector
  • Experience in market analysis regarding user needs and competitive environment
  • Experience in service delivery (digital sales systems) to diverse customer groups and data product management
  • Experience with national, European, and global data policy regulations (e.g., Open Data/INSPIRE Directive) and their practical application
  • Experience in project management and leading interdisciplinary working groups
