Job Summary
This two-year full-time position as a Bioinformatician at the Gerhard-Domagk-Institute for Pathology involves expanding their Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) platform to include Exome (WES) and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing analytical algorithms and pipelines, evaluating genome, transcriptome, and methylome data (including assembly, annotation, and in-silico evaluation), and developing and optimizing a database structure for integrated analytics. The role requires a strong background in bioinformatics, extensive experience with sequencing data analysis, and proficiency in programming. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge molecular pathology diagnostics and potentially engage in scientific projects and student teaching within a supportive and collaborative team.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biosciences, or Biomedicine (or equivalent); a successfully completed doctorate is desirable.
Experience
- Long-term experience in the analysis of sequencing data
- Professional experience in scientific projects and student teaching (desirable)
