Job Summary

This role seeks a highly motivated PhD student to join the Institute of Medical Biochemistry, focusing on innate immune responses, particularly immune cell dynamics (like neutrophil extravasation) and organelle dynamics/metabolism in immune cells. The successful candidate will conduct experimental investigations utilizing cell biological, immunological, biochemical, and advanced microscopy methods, including confocal and live cell imaging. They will be responsible for meticulous data documentation and the preparation of their PhD thesis. This position, embedded within the Centre of Molecular Biology of Inflammation (ZMBE), offers a vibrant, international research environment with access to state-of-the-art equipment and integration into major research initiatives (e.g., CRC 1450, TRR 332, SFB 1348), providing excellent career development opportunities.
