Job Summary

This role involves working as a Doctoral Researcher within the Cellular Microbiology group at the Institute for Medical Microbiology, focusing on a critical project funded by the IZKF Münster. The primary objective is investigating how *Staphylococcus aureus* invades host cells (endothelial and epithelial cells), especially during co-infection with the Influenza virus. Day-to-day tasks include the careful planning, execution, and documentation of complex cell biological, microbiological, and molecular biological experiments. Key activities involve analyzing protein-protein interactions, studying the functional role of Thiol isomerases, and analyzing host responses like signal transduction and cytokine secretion. The successful candidate will present findings at national and international conferences and write scientific publications. This position offers comprehensive methodical training, exposure to modern research facilities, and the opportunity to contribute novel therapeutic strategies against severe bacterial infections.
